Hi there,

It's great to hear about the new restaurant (and that it is open everyday!). The folks at Menu Pte Ltd had told me some months back that you have left Wine Garage. Was searching around to find out more on the new restaurant that you were setting up as we had wanted to invite you to present a workshop on burgers in July (yr burgers are fantastic and possibly the best in town!) at the national museum. This is part of the museum's Life & Living -Food & Culture series and we hope you are keen and able to come in as a presenter. Please feel free to contact me at lim_hui_ting@nhb.gov.sg and I can share more details with you.
Cheers!

Chef T

Best bread I've had for a long while. We stopped by for coffee last saturday just for the bread. Ended up having to get a whole loaf of ciabatta (and finishing it!) 'cause we were told the bread board is served only during lunch and dinner services. Would be great if it ordered all day... get a better variety.

cheers

Thanks for your comments. We will indeed look at offering our Bread Selection during this time. We do put a lot of effort into our breads and I believe they are soem of the best in Singapore. I hope to welcome you back to the restaurant in the near future. All the best.

I've heard several negative reviews about Spruce from some local food sites. From my experience with new restaurants, you do have to give time for some growing pains. So, I decided to pop by last Sunday evening for dinner. My company of friends enjoyed our dinner, from service right up to the taste of your food.

I really loved my order of the Whole Roasted Snapper. My wife's Fish and Chips tasted great too (only feedback is that the fried fish is a bit too brown). All of us love the frites even after tasting from some frites specialist (Frjtz Fries) a couple of weeks back.

Kudos to the team! I'll be back for more food.

Dropped by last week. Lovely ambience though the ramp is hell on platform wedges. Note to self (and your women customers) - wear heels at your own risk to Spruce!

We had:
- Lamb kofta salad. OMG, so good! Kofta could be a little juicier and the meat less stringy, but otherwise this is so simple, I'm shocked I can't find this anywhere else.

- Duck pappardelle (I think that's the noodle). My friend loved it, but I'm not much of a duck person so I found it rather rich. I've tasted at other places where the ragu is more tomato-y, which I prefer.

- Ravioli with Beef Bolognese. Fantastic! Each ravioli was a great package of flavour with everybite, and I love that the basil is so pungently aromatic.

- Panna cotta with fruit compote. Texture was a little grainy due to the yoghurt, I think, but I love the way it's served in a jam jar. Would have preferred more pannacotta *mmmmh* and less compote (which was a bit tart for me). But that could just be me.

- Asahi Dunkel - Great stuff. A light-tasting dark beer.

I'm plotting to come back, and soon.

Keep up the fabulous work! And will you let me see your herb garden if I asked very nicely?

Your Anorld Palmer was the WORST ever ice lemon tea my friend had. After pouring in the entire pot of sugar syrup, it's still dirt sour! She had to request for another pot of sugar syrup! Unbelievable! It was still sour! Your beverages are so weak! OMG!! Your cakes were below average...Dont think will even want to try dinner, if your beverages and cakes are so weak..

Hello:
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. First, let me apologize for your experience here, we never want anyone to leave unhappy and surely you did. Second, please allow me to invite you back to experience Spruce again. I have taken note of your comments and have looked into why your drink was unsatisfactory. I believe the next time you join us you will see a marked improvement. I firmly believe in all of our cakes and pastries, but would love to hear more specific feedback as to what you didn't enjoy so that we may look into it. All the best and hope to hear from you soon. Hi,
My group of 10 visited Spruce for the first time last Sunday. Whilst we liked the natural decor, we were a tad disappointed with the food and service. Granted it was packed during lunch hrs but your staff were slow in response and it was difficult to get their attention to order anything. Your coffee prices are on the high side. I would expect a really good cup of latte for $6 but it was disappointing. Considering that the top barista in S'pore is charging less than $5.50 for their latte and it tastes way better than yours, I think something should be done with either your pricing or the quality of your staff's coffee making skills.

Whatever I may say here is bad. Hope you will take it back to your staff. No matter working so hard in the kitchen when the world outside is such...
I have heard it from friends about the ambience and settings. I finally got there yesterday. Without disappointing me, the way in was impressive enough. It was so colonial in feel. The staff who greeted me was polite. However, afterwhich, it was all uh-ohs all the way till I left.
Head-shaking moments:
1. They missed out my friend's reservation. Nowhere to be found in their reservation book. My friend called to reserve...
2. We were given a table for 6 with the promise that we would have the table till 9 p.m. Halfway through our dinner, around 8 p.m., one of the staff approached us and said that they wanted a table out of the 3 we had and asked the 6 of us to share the 2 remaining tables. It was such a rude gesture. Will anyone who treasure customers do that? It was not even 9 p.m. In the first place, we reserved a place, but they left out the reservation. Note: Walk-in customers = second class citizens.
3. At 9 p.m., we were asked to leave. Being very unhappy, my friend said to one of the staff, "I am truly disappointed." The reply from a totally immature staff in a reprimanding tone, "At least, I got you guys a table, right?" Hence, my friend said, "We will leave." This staff didn't get the bill, obviously oblivious to the meaning of that.
4. We finally asked for the bill because the staff didn't understand what we wanted was the bill. I couldn't take it, spoke to the manager. Given response was nonchalant.
Well, well, what can I say? I must say this, no matter how good the food may be, the experience was marred. I don't think I will ever bring any of my friends there again.

Hello:
Thank you for providing feedback on your experience here, it is obvious that we failed to provide the hospitality and graciousness that I expect of all my staff. I want you to know that I take all of the feedback that we get wether good or bad and try to make it right. I understand it is going to be difficult to win back your patronage but please allow me to invite you back again to experience Spruce. Please drop me a line at travismasiero@spruce.com.sg so that I can welcome you back personally. Thanks again for taking the time to write.

Not sure if your Sat operating hours are starting from 8:30am as I had been calling for 15 mins since 8:30am but no one picks up the phone. Am a bit weary should I just drop in....
